“Hope is the only thing stronger than fear”

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”

— Lao Tzu

To climb a mountain you need to take it one step at a time. It all starts with making the first step and committing to the journey. I understand how scary and confusing it is to make this decision to start therapy and choose the right therapist for you.

In my twenty years of experience I realised that my clients knew within the first few sessions if the therapist was the right person for them. Ask yourself what is important to you right now - is it to live the life you are living and carry on struggling? or is it time for freedom?

Build the life you want can starts right here, right now by making the first step.

Initial Assessment Session

Taking the first step towards counselling can be both brave and daunting. To ensure you receive the support that best suits your needs, I offer an initial consultation as your starting point. Reach out to me via the provided contact form, and I'll promptly arrange an initial telephone call for free, so you can get a sense of working with me and you can decide if you would like to arrange a full assessment appointment.

During the assessment session, I'll take the time to understand where you are in your journey, what has led you to seek counselling, and whether my therapeutic approach aligns with your goals. Rest assured, I prioritise your well-being and aim to respond within two days. If we both feel comfortable moving forward, we'll schedule your first counselling session, marking the beginning of your transformative journey.

My Approach

Integrative Counselling

My counselling approach is rooted in Integrative Counselling, which acknowledges that no single therapy can address all situations. I view each person as a unique whole, tailoring my counselling techniques to meet your individual needs and personal circumstances. Through exploration and reflection within a safe, non-judgmental space, I empower you to better cope with life's challenges, enrich your enjoyment of life, and enhance your relationships with others.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a powerful and versatile therapy that can assist individuals facing a wide range of mental health conditions. I employ this technique to help you process distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact and enabling you to move forward with increased resilience. EMDR can help with PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression disorders, eating disorders, OCD and others.

Other Modalities

In addition to Integrative Counselling and EMDR, I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to best serve your needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused therapy, Person Centred therapy, Compassion- focused therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and Sensory Motor Psychotherapy.

Couples Counselling

Relationships can face a myriad of challenges, from communication breakdowns to conflicts that seem insurmountable. In my Couples Counselling, I help partners navigate these issues and rediscover the strength in their relationship.

Common problems couples may face include communication difficulties, trust issues, unresolved conflicts, and emotional disconnection. I provide a safe and neutral space for open dialogue, conflict resolution, and improved understanding.

My training is in emotionally focused therapy, which is a short-term structured approach to psychotherapy. Its goal is to create a more more secure emotional attachment between two people. Through guided conversations and tailored techniques, we work together to strengthen your bond and cultivate a healthier, more fulfilling partnership.

Young People

Navigating the complexities of youth can be overwhelming. I specialize in supporting young people facing a range of issues, providing them with the tools and strategies needed to cope and thrive. Whether dealing with academic stress, peer pressure, family dynamics, or emotional challenges, my counselling sessions offer a creative and compassionate approach.

To help young people who find it difficult to express how they are feeling, I use creative art therapy (drawing, painting, sand tray, creative writing or clay), play therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore their emotions and build resilience for a brighter future.
